If you're getting from an airport to the university by yourself, you can get to the Stony Brook train station, which is on campus close to the physics department, in the following ways.

JFK Airport

Air train to Jamaica, LIRR along the Huntington/Port Jefferson line to Stony Brook

LaGuardia Airport

Taxi, Uber/Lyft, or Q60-SBS to Woodside, LIRR along the Huntington/Port Jefferson line to Stony Brook

Newark Airport

Air train to Newark Airport Station, NJ transit to Penn Station, LIRR to Stony Brook

Islip (MacArthur) Airport

Taxis are your only hope
